Why is UBCon 18+ now?
The University at Buffalo does not want any unattended minors on campus. The exception to this rule is registered UB undergraduate students under 18.
I'm a vendor/artist. Can my child accompany me?
Yes, but they must stay with you in your vendor/artist room, and cannot attend convention events.
When will events, guests, etc. be posted?
The event schedule will be posted during the first week of April, and our list of vendors will be posted by the end of March. We hope to reveal our special guests very soon, but cannot make any official announcements until contracts are signed and approved by the Student Association.
Can I buy a badge for just one day?
Yes! Single day badges will be made available after the early bird discount period for weekend badges ends.
Can I buy a ticket at the door?
Technically, yes, you can buy a ticket online at any time, including when you arrive at the con. However, we as a club cannot process sales, so we do not have a cash option.
Do vendors take card?
That is up to each individual vendor or artist, however, almost everyone does. The restaurants on campus also take card.
What are my food options?
There are many restaurants to choose from on campus! The Student Union has a Moe's and Tim Hortons inside, and there are a bunch more restaurants in the Commons right across from the SU. We even have a special UBCon lounge area inside of The Cheesy Chick in the Commons!
There are also vending machines located across from the Craftsman Bazaar. On Friday, UB Cosplay will be hosting a maid cafe if you just need a quick snack!
Do you have an attendance cap?
Yes, but our cap for this year quite large and we haven't come close to it before. So you shouldn't have to worry about us selling out of weekend badges.
Why doesn't UBCon have _____?
If we're missing something that other cons have, it's likely due to our limited budget. We always stretch it as far as we can!
